Get started

Strata is a database you embed in your program. There is no server to run and nothing to configure first: you install a binary, point it at a directory, and that directory is a database.

Start with Installation. If you would rather try it without installing anything, the playground runs the real engine compiled to wasm, in your browser.

Once it is running, Introduction to StrataDB is the shortest explanation of what you have, and Agents covers wiring it into a coding agent over MCP.
